FINANCIAL INFORMATION
The cost to students attending Gardner is well below actual per student cost. Contributions from Canadian churches, Western Canadian Church of God World Service, Eastern Canadian Church of God World Service, Women of the Church of God, College Alumni, U.S. churches and numerous individuals and businesses make up one-half of the College’s budget. In effect, every student has the benefit of a bursary amounting to approximately 50% of the education cost at Gardner.
GARDNER COLLEGE PAYMENT OPTIONS
Attending college is an exciting, life-enriching opportunity. It is also expensive and requires of the student and his/her support base some careful budget planning. Gardner College has several payment methods to assist you. Please let us know how we can help. Here are some options for your consideration:
Option # 1: Pre-Payment Plan
This option allows new students who have completed their application process, or returning students who have pre-registered, the opportunity to pay in advance and receive a discount. If the estimated full semester balance is paid to the College by set dates, a 2% discount will be given to the student.
For this option, the account must be paid by August 5th for the first semester, and by December 5th for second semester.
Option #2: Institutional Monthly Payment Plan
This option allows a student to spread the full payment of their account over the semester. The structure for the plan is:
25% payment by August 5th (first semester) balance on account due in three monthly payments (September 5th, October 5th and November 5th).
25% payment by December 5th (second semester) balance due in three monthly payments (January 5th, February 5th and March 5th).
There is a $25.00 fee per semester, but no interest will be charged to the account (if payments are current).
Option #3: Institutional Yearly Payment Plan
This option allows the student to spread out his/her payments over a full twelve month period.
25% payment by August 5th with eleven equal monthly payments (final payment made in July 5th). This requires an estimate of charges for the two semesters.
There is a $100.00 fee per year and an interest charge of .5% (½ percent per month) charged to the balance due.
Option #4: Accounts Charged On Your Visa/MasterCharge Card
Each semester, the college will accept the payment of a student’s account on a valid VISA or MasterCharge card. No discount will apply since the College pays a service percentage fee.
Option #5: Other Alternatives
All other accounts (outside the above plans) will be charged 1% interest each month as long as the regular established payment is made. If a payment is missed, the monthly interest charge will be 2%. The minimum payment acceptable is 10% of the balance due. If the above plans do not work, a regular payment plan must be established with the Business Manager. No student will be allowed to enroll without a plan in place!
At the beginning of any semester, a student will NOT be allowed to enroll if they have a balance owing on their account. The student may not register for the next semester unless they are making regular payments as outlined by payment option #3 above. No student will be allowed to return in September with any balance owing unless special arrangements (short term) are made with the Business Manager.
If a student is awaiting receipt of funds from their Financial Aid program, the College will await the arrival of the funds. If the student makes a least a 1% payment each month during the interim, he/she will not be charged interest. If the College carries the account without payment until the funds are received, the account will be charged 1% interest per month. This option is only valid with proof of application for financial aid (provided to the College’s Business Manager). Early application for financial aid is strongly encouraged! Help is available in this process from the College’s Business Manager.

1.At the time of applying for graduation, a graduation fee will be assessed.
2.Miscellaneous fees must be paid in full at the time of registration.
3.All students must arrange their own medical insurance.
4.All students must arrange their own insurance for personal belongings and Vehicle.
5.All purchases in the bookstore are by cash, cheque or Credit card.
** Tuition will be guaranteed for any student continuing for consecutive full-time semesters, as being the same tuition rate as was in effect when enrolling for their first semester at Gardner. This guarantee is for a maximum period of five (5) years.
REFUNDS
When a student voluntarily withdraws after the semester opens, refunds of tuition, board and room charges, and regular fees will be refunded as follows: 90% after the first week, 70% after the second week, 50% after the third week, 40% after the fourth week, and 20% after the fifth week. This refund will be calculated on the basis of when the student completes the requirements for withdrawal. No refund will be made after the sixth week. Requirements for withdrawal can be made through the Dean’s and Registrar’s Offices. Application, Registration, and Incidental Fees are not refundable.
If a student is expelled within the first thirty days, the refund of tuition will be set at 25%; board and room will be refunded on the same schedule as applies for voluntary withdrawals. Any student who is expelled after thirty days will not be eligible for any refund of funds.
Policy for Fees for Miscellaneous fees (other than Tuition, books, room and board):
Full time student: Students taking 3 or more courses equalling 9 or more credits in a term.
Part time student: Students taking less than 9 credits in a term and working on a certificate, diploma or degree through Gardner College.
Special students:
1.Students who are taking one or two courses at Gardner and are planning to transfer those courses to another educational institution for credit towards that institution’s certificate, diploma or degree.
2. A special student is also a student that is taking one or two courses for personal development and is not working toward a certificate, diploma or degree. A student that completes five courses under this status will be considered part time when registering in additional courses and the part time fee chart will apply.
