Gardner College Student Fee Payment (as of May 2008)
Attending college is an exciting, life-enriching opportunity. Good financial planning and
budgeting is essential to the student achieving their goals. Gardner College recognizes
some payment options available to assist you.
Discount with Full Payment at or before Registration:
This allows any student who has completed their application process, or returning students
who have pre-registered, the opportunity to pay in advance and receive a discount. A
2% discount will be given to any student who pays their semester account in full on or before
the registration day for that semester. This payment must be made by cheque or cash.
Government Student Loans:
With proof of completed and government-approved application for financial aid, the student
will be allowed to register and enroll in their classes, provided that all government
cheques be sent directly to Gardner College, payable toward the student’s account. The
student must begin the online application process before the end of June (for both semesters),
so that all necessary papers are ready to be confirmed and signed by the College
on Registration day. In this scenario, the student’s account must be paid in full by
October 15 for the first semester, and by February 15 for the second semester.
Accounts Charged On Your Visa/MasterCard account:
Gardner College’s Business Manager has approval to accept the payment of a student's
account on a valid VISA or MasterCard. No discount will apply. The College must receive
the payment before September 15 for first semester, and before January 15 for second semester.
PLEASE NOTE:
-
We want to make your financial process as simple as possible. If you need help, please talk to the Business Manager.
-
IF THE STUDENT HAS AN OUTSTANDING ACCOUNT BALANCE OWING, they will not be allowed to write their final exams in either semester, nor will they be allowed to register in a subsequent semester.
-
At the time of applying for graduation, the graduation fee will be assessed.
-
All students must arrange their own medical insurance.
-
All students must arrange their own insurance for personal belongings and Vehicle.
-
All purchases in the bookstore are by cash, cheque, or Credit card.
-
Tuition will be guaranteed for any student continuing for consecutive full-time semesters, as being the same tuition rate as was in effect when enrolling for their first semester at Gardner. This guarantee is for a maximum period of two (2) years.
Refunds
When a student voluntarily withdraws after the semester opens, refunds of tuition, board and room charges, and other fees will be refunded as follows:
-
90% after the first week, 70% after the second week, 50% after the third week, 40% after the fourth week, and 20% after the fifth week. This refund will be calculated on the basis of when the student completes the requirements for withdrawal. No refund will be made after the sixth week. Requests for withdrawal can be made through the Dean’s and Registrar’s Offices. Application, Registration, and Non-Instructional Fees are not refundable.
-
If a student is expelled within the first thirty days, the refund of tuition will be set at 25%; board and room will be refunded on the same schedule as applies for voluntary withdrawals. Any student who is expelled after thirty days will not be eligible for any refund of funds. The ECD refund policy from Private Vocational Schools follows this pattern. The specific material is available on request.
